Bio
With ingénue appeal and a soulful vocal style, Genevieve Jackson comes
as the latest talent to emerge from the famously talented Jackson
family. Poised to make her mark on the music scene, the budding artist
attributes her Latin influence to her Colombian born mother who she
names as the biggest supporter of her dreams. “I am a big fan of my
Colombian roots, as well as my African American roots. I am blessed to
come from such a talented family, she says.” Part of what sets her
apart is her variety of influences. “Growing up, my family would
always play old school music. I grew up listening to Earth, Wind, &
Fire, The Commodores, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, The Jackson 5, Prince, and
Aretha Franklin.” One of her ultimate dreams is to collaborate with
Prince. When asked where she wants to go musically Genevieve says, “I
see myself doing many styles. I don’t want to just stop with pop and
R&B, but want to do Rock, Hip-Hop, Punjabi, and Techno/Dance. From
early on Genevieve always knew that she wanted to be a performer. Her
family can remember her singing from the tender age of two. First to
volunteer for the school talent shows and plays she honed her talent and
found that she loved being in front of a large audience. In true Jackson
form, she is somewhat shy at times, but according to Genevieve, “Once
I get on that stage it’s a whole different story!” Plain and
simple—she lights up the stage. As she stands ready to take the next
step in her musical path she brings the drive and enthusiasm of a girl
who knows who she is and what she wants to accomplish. “My goal is to
be the best that I can be, she says. Through my voice that God has given
me, I am hoping to do a lot of great things for the world. Her goals
include helping the homeless and traveling the world to make a
difference. She knows that through her music she can finally begin her
journey.
